In 1994, Ford launched the fourth-generation Mustang to celebrate its 30th anniversary, introducing the redesigned SN-95 model. It was based on the rear-wheel-drive Fox platform and marked the retirement of the notchback coupe.
The base model featured a 3.8-liter V6 engine, with a 4.6-liter V8 introduced in 1996 for the Mustang GT. In 1999, the Mustang received a redesign with Ford’s New Edge styling and improvements to the 4.6-liter V8, which increased its output to 260 bhp.
